Back to Endpoint

When installing Management HA with Endpoint, you need to consider the synchronisation of data between devices.

Primary Management Server to Standby Management Server

On the Primary server MSI packages, SmartCard drivers and other files used in the policy are stored in:

Windows platforms:

%fwdir%\conf\SMC_Files\uepm\msi
%fwdir%\conf\SMC_Files\uepm\DRIVERS\

SecurePlatform or Gaia:

$FWDIR/conf/SMC_Files/uepm/msi
$FWDIR/conf/SMC_Files/uepm/DRIVERS

When you install the standby servers, you must synchronize these folders manually, as these are not synchronised as mark of the management synchronisation process

These folders should be manually kept in step when new client packages are added or if you make changes to policy which includes adding custom images/logos etc.

Primary Management Server to Policy Servers

The synchronization of information differs between the Primary Management Server and the Policy servers.

On a policy server the files are not stored in the same directory as on the management servers.

Only Endpoint MSI packages, SmartCard drivers and other files used in the policy are synchronised between the management server and the policy server.

Therefore the will be a difference in content between the files stored on the plicy server verses that stored on the management server.

On the policy server the files are stored in:

$UEPMDIR/engine/webapps/CP/cache/INSTALLER/
