Creating email alerts within SmartCentre

From Tech-Wiki

Configure the legacy SmartCentre/SmartDashboard mail-alert command and trigger it from a rule.

ⓘ
Legacy interface terminology
This article preserves the SmartCentre/SmartDashboard workflow from the original knowledge base. Menu names can differ on later Check Point management releases.

Configure the alert command

In SmartDashboard:

  1. Open Global Properties → Log and Alert → Alert Commands.
  2. Enable Send mail alert to SmartView Status.
  3. Enable Run mail alert script.
  4. Enter the internal mail command.

Command syntax:

internal_sendmail [-s <subject>] [-t <mail-server>] [-f <from email address>] <recipient-1> <recipient-2> ...

For multiple recipients, separate each email address with a space.

Trigger the alert from policy

  1. In the Rule Base, define a rule that should generate an alert.
  2. In the Track field, select Mail.
  3. Install the Security Policy.
